The week in music history brought to you by FEB 3: Sadly, 60 years ago today Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens, as well as the pilot, died in a plane crash on the way to Fargo, ND. Holly rented the plane because the bus they had been using was having heating issues and had already broken down twice in freezing conditions. Pete Townsend of The Who had helped organize the two night concert to help Clapton kick his heroin habit.
